Course Information
This course meets the requirements of Ofsted Early Years and Childcare Register.
A two day course that looks at Paediatric First Aid subjects in greater depths.
Using the latest digital feedback Full Body Manikins available, the candidate is able to develop confidence in all aspects of Baby, Child and Adult Resuscitation incorporating use of AED Defibrillators.
A dedicated First Aid training room with a maximum of 8 per course so plenty of time to practice.
It is essential that candidates have a good command of English to be able to complete the course.
Scenarios
This course will be scenario based, we will be working inside and outside the classroom, so come prepared for First Aid incidents inside and outside the classroom.
Over the two day course the following group scenarios will take place outside the classroom:-
Resuscitation - Adult, Child, Baby
Unconscious casualty - The Recovery position
Wounds and Bleeding
Course Content
Planning for first aid emergencies
Dealing with emergencies
Record keeping
Resuscitation CPR Adult, Child, Baby
Use of AED Defibrillator (Hands on Real working Defibrillator as our Manikins are desiged to work with Real Defibs)
Unconscious casualty
Recognising and dealing with shock, anaphylactic shock
Recognising and responding appropriately to electric shock
Recognising and responding appropriately to bleeding and wounds
Responding appropriately to a casualty who has/is:-
Burns and scalds,
Choking,
Suspected fractures, head, neck and back injuries,
Asthma, Epilepsy. Diabetic emergencies,
Febrile convulsions, meningitis, sickle cell crisis,
Poisoning, bitten/stung, nose bleeds, grazes, cuts, splinters, bumps/bruises,
Ear, eye and nose conditions,
Heat and Cold conditions.
