    [main_text] => This is an active and practical course, so come prepared with waterproofs, warm clothing and appropriate footwear that may get wet and muddy in an outdoors setting.  A spare pair of shoes/trainers would be good to wear indoors.

The QE2 Activity Centre is the venue for our 2 Day Rescue Emergency Care (REC) First Aid courses.

The QE2 Activity Centre is only a mile from Junction 8 of the M27 motorway, which links to the M3, A27 and A3, enabling easy access from London, the Midlands and North.
 
Exit at M27 Junction 8 and follow the brown Tourist Information signs for the River Hamble Country Park (formally called Manor Farm Country Park). Turn into Pylands Lane winding down the road and going over the speed bumps for approximately a few hundred yards once into the Country Park the Queen Elizabeth 2 Activities Centre is clearly marked on the left.
 
Bursledon Railway Station, on the Southampton-Portsmouth line is two miles away, Eastleigh Parkway Railway Station is four miles away and Southampton Railway Station approximately six miles away.  Southampton Airport is four miles away.

First Aid Course 16 Hours****
The REC Emergency First Aid Level 2 course is designed to introduce a systematic way of First Aid for managing casualties using practicals intermixed with scenarios of real situations in an outdoor environment.

The course includes:-

The fundamental workings of the body, in particular the heart, lungs and airway
Assessing a casualty
Introduces a system to cope with incidents as safely as possible
Deciding how to deal with an accident or incident
Awareness of delayed medical help and adverse environmental conditions

The Qualification:-

The REC (Rescue Emergency Care) Emergency First Aid Course is certified for 3 years and is an entry point for the REC scheme.  It is currently the approved course for BASI, SkiClub GB, ASCL, RYA, BCU and MLTB, confirm with your National Governing Body.  
(An RYA First Aid Certificate can be issued - see below)



(Note to RYA Instructors and Commercial Endorsement holders:-  The RYA First Aid syllabus is covered throughout the REC 2 Day First Aid course, if you would like an RYA First Aid Certificate for attending the course, pay an additional £10 at the start of the course to cover Certification and to receive the RYA/MCA recommended First Aid book)

The syllabus of the HSE One Day First Aid at Work Emergency First Aid course is covered throughout this course so pay an additional £5.00 at the start of the course to receive the FAAW certificate.
